My name Son Kuswadi, was born in Pamekasan (a capital
city of small island Madura, near Surabaya) on January
15, 1962. My beloved parent Sakri and Kusmijati both are
elementary school teachers in Madura (then moved to
Surabaya where I am grown up there since 1970). Their
love in education makes me want to be teacher too; and I
am realized that teaching is very interesting and
enjoyable for me. After graduating from Department of
Electrical Engineering,
Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in
Surabaya (1986) with majoring in Control Engineering, I
became a lecturer at
Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya
(EEPIS), since its establishment in 1988. EEPIS is
considered as one of national resources polytechnics (NRP)
in electronic-related field (POLBAN
and POLMAN are
another NRPs in civil and mechanical fields
respectively). EEPIS is one example of most succesful
Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA) project in Indonesia even
world wide.
I receive my Dr.Eng. degree from Tokyo Institute of
Technology, under supervisor Prof. Mitsuji Sampei in
September 2003
My teaching experiences
including automatic control, microprocessor and
interfacing, intelligent control, and assembly language.
To enhance my ability in teaching and research, JICA
support me to study at Nara National College of
Technology, Nara Japan (1990-1991) in
microprocessor-based control systems (supervised by
Prof. Haruo
Takahashi) and at Knowledge-based Information
Engineering Department of Toyohashi University of
Technology (TUT), Toyohashi, Japan (1997) (supervised by
Prof. Osami
Saito) in
fuzzy logic and
genetic
algorithms fields.
